Breathing in Modern Times
2019-2020
What does every human on the planet have in common with every other human? The need to take a b-r-e-a-t-h. We all share A-I-R. The molecule of oxygen I take in may have at one time been in the lungs of someone who looks quite different than me, who thinks quite differently, who is of a different sexual orientation. At the time I'm writing this the whole planet is trying to avoid taking in a breath that may contain that nasty virus, Covid-19. It's out there in the air. And if my lungs don't fill up with good air.....I'll die.
